Found Lake

Lake County, MinnesotaLimited DataMesotrophic

Found Lake comes in at a B on the grading rubric — a respectable showing for a Minnesota lake of its size and depth.

The lake sits in the mesotrophic zone — the band where most well-managed Minnesota lakes fall. Found Lake reaches 38 ft at its deepest point — typical for Minnesota mid-sized lakes, with seasonal stratification but limited cold-water refuge. The lake is compact at 60 acres, with 1.5 miles of shoreline and little volume to buffer nutrient inputs. Among the 142 graded lakes in Lake County, Found Lake sits at rank 51, above the county median.

Found Lake has no invasive species recorded in Minnesota state databases as of 2024, though prevention practices still apply at all access points. 1 fish species are documented at Found Lake, a mixed warm-water community typical for Minnesota lakes of this size. The lake lacks a documented public access point, so visitor use is limited. The grade is based on limited monitoring — fewer than three independent measurement years contribute, so future updates may shift the letter.
