Mesotrophic conditions dominate at Lake Julia: enough nutrients for a healthy fishery, not so much that algal blooms become a chronic problem. A maximum depth of 19 ft puts Lake Julia in the middle of Wisconsin's depth distribution. Lake Julia covers 241 acres alongside partial shoreline records — a mid-sized water that supports a working fishery without being so large that conditions diverge between basins. Lake Julia ranks 32 of 134 in Oneida County, putting it in the upper tier of locally monitored lakes.

Lake Julia has at least one documented invasive species (Chinese Mystery Snail), so boaters and anglers should observe clean-drain-dry steps when leaving the lake. The fishery includes walleye alongside the lake's other 6 documented species — a notable draw for Wisconsin anglers. Public access is available — the lake is on the Wisconsin DNR public-access list. The grade is based on limited monitoring — fewer than three independent measurement years contribute, so future updates may shift the letter.
