A maximum depth of 30 ft puts Kroon Lake in the middle of Minnesota's depth distribution. At 193 acres, Kroon Lake fits the Minnesota median for monitored lakes, with 2.4 miles of shoreline. Kroon Lake ranks 15 of 31 in Chisago County — solidly in the upper half of the local distribution.

Eurasian watermilfoil is established at Kroon Lake, which can dampen recreational access and pressure the native plant community. The fishery includes walleye alongside the lake's other 13 documented species — a notable draw for Minnesota anglers. Public access is available — the lake is on the Minnesota PCA public-access list. Multiple sampling years from Minnesota PCA volunteers and partner agencies back the grade, so the letter should hold steady absent a major watershed shift.
