Lake Beulah Station 2

Lake Beulah Station 2 sits at the top of the Wisconsin DNR grading rubric with an A, a mark reached by the cleanest lakes in Wisconsin. The three sub-grades — clarity, phosphorus, and chlorophyll-a — track close together, so no single parameter is dragging the average.

The lake sits in the mesotrophic zone — the band where most well-managed Wisconsin lakes fall. Lake Beulah Station 2 is unusually deep for Wisconsin at 58 ft, which buffers the lake against summer warming and helps the deep water stay oxygenated. The lake's 812 acres and partial shoreline records put it in the mid-range bucket — large enough for varied use, small enough that watershed inputs reach the whole basin. Lake Beulah Station 2 ranks 17 of 34 in Walworth County — solidly in the upper half of the local distribution.

Zebra mussel presence at Lake Beulah Station 2 means the lake's clarity numbers carry an asterisk — filtered water is not the same as nutrient-poor water. Bass fishing is part of the appeal: the species list runs to 3, anchored by largemouth and/or smallmouth bass. A documented public access point at Lake Beulah Station 2 makes the lake usable for shore fishing, paddle craft, and trailered boats.
