Adventure Lake
Lake County, MinnesotaLimited DataMesotrophic
The LakeGrade rubric puts Adventure Lake at a C: clarity at 6.8 ft, phosphorus readings still being added, and a TSI of 50 signal an intermediate trophic state.
Mesotrophic conditions dominate at Adventure Lake: enough nutrients for a healthy fishery, not so much that algal blooms become a chronic problem. A maximum depth of just 10 ft means sediment-bound phosphorus releases back into the water column whenever wind stirs the bottom — a classic shallow-lake dynamic. Adventure Lake is small — 47 acres alongside 1.6 miles of shoreline — which makes it sensitive to even modest changes in watershed runoff or recreational pressure. Within Lake County's 142 graded lakes, Adventure Lake ranks 105 — below the local median, though not at the bottom.
No invasive species are currently listed at Adventure Lake — the lake remains off the Minnesota infested-waters roster. The state fisheries records do not list documented species for Adventure Lake, which usually reflects a lack of formal fisheries survey work rather than an empty lake. No formal public access is documented at Adventure Lake — most use is by shoreline residents and their guests. Monitoring depth is thin here: the LakeGrade rubric is applied to a small number of sample years, and the grade will be revised as more data accumulates.

DNR Fisheries Survey Summary
1 survey on file from MN DNR Fisheries. Most recent: 1982-07-16 (Standard Survey).
Top Species by Catch Rate
| Species | Avg CPUE | Avg Weight |
|---|---|---|
| White Sucker | 12.00 | 1.67 lb |
| Northern Pike | 6.00 | 3.58 lb |
| Walleye | 6.00 | 2.5 lb |
| Yellow Perch | 3.00 | 0.17 lb |
CPUE = catch per unit effort, averaged across surveys (excludes juvenile shoreline seining). Higher CPUE = more abundant in standardized sampling.
From the 1982-07-16 survey
Adventure lake contains an above average population of suckers while walleyes, northern pike, and perch populations are about average. The walleye population is composed mostly of mature fish which appear to have average growth rates through Age IV and then slow down considerably.
