Anna Lake
Crow Wing County, MinnesotaLimited DataMesotrophic
Anna Lake carries a solid B grade — strong on most parameters, with measurements that hold up well across the summer season. The three sub-grades — clarity, phosphorus, and chlorophyll-a — track close together, so no single parameter is dragging the average.
The lake sits in the mesotrophic zone — the band where most well-managed Minnesota lakes fall. A maximum depth of 19 ft puts Anna Lake in the middle of Minnesota's depth distribution. At 112 acres, Anna Lake fits the Minnesota median for monitored lakes, with 2.7 miles of shoreline. Anna Lake sits at rank 87 of 120 in Crow Wing County, in the lower half of the local distribution.
No invasive species are currently listed at Anna Lake — the lake remains off the Minnesota infested-waters roster. The state fisheries records do not list documented species for Anna Lake, which usually reflects a lack of formal fisheries survey work rather than an empty lake. The lake lacks a documented public access point, so visitor use is limited. Ice-out has been recorded 13 times at Anna Lake, with a median around Apr 19. The grade is based on limited monitoring — fewer than three independent measurement years contribute, so future updates may shift the letter.
