Hurricane Falls

A 96-foot cascade beneath the Tallulah Gorge suspension bridge, the most photographed of the gorge's waterfalls; reaching it requires descending roughly 1,100 steps on the Hurricane Falls Loop.
Before you go
Waterfalls are hazardous by nature — wet rock, cold water, and unstable edges — and flow varies enormously with season and recent rain. Trail figures here describe the route as documented, not conditions today. Check Tallulah Gorge State Park (GA State Parks) for closures and current conditions, and confirm land status before setting out.

Frequently Asked Questions
Hurricane Falls drops about 96 feet. That makes it the 221st-tallest documented waterfall in this inventory, taller than roughly 68% of the falls listed here. Height comes from published land-manager and survey records, not from our own measurement.
The Hurricane Falls Loop Trail reaches it about 2 miles (loop) with roughly 350 feet of elevation gain, rated strenuous. The nearest town is Tallulah Falls. That describes the route as documented, not conditions on the day — check with Tallulah Gorge State Park (GA State Parks) for closures and current conditions.
Scheduled aesthetic water releases (spring and fall weekends). Waterfall flow swings enormously with snowmelt and recent rain, so a fall that roars in spring can be a trickle by late summer.
