Pedernales Falls
Pedernales Falls is a wide cascade where the Pedernales River drops roughly 50 feet over tiered, 300-million-year-old Marble Falls limestone ledges in the Texas Hill Country west of Austin. A short trail leads to the falls overlook; the river is notorious for sudden flash flooding, and swimming is prohibited at the falls area.
