What this rating covers
This is the official classification published by Italy under the EU Bathing Water Directive (2006/7/EC). It reflects measured bacteriological levels — E. coli and intestinal enterococci — over four bathing seasons. It is not a safety clearance, and it does not cover algal blooms, nutrients, water clarity or hazards such as currents and depth. Conditions change after heavy rain. Always check local signage and the operator’s current notices before entering the water.
